Origins Restaurant in the Pan Pacific Hotel is one of my favorite spot for High Tea, having been there a couple of years back for their Christmas in July High Tea and really loved it. I found the menu carefully thought out with a range of different ingredients and not just the usual sandwiches and scones you see nowadays.

This time I was back to celebrate my birthday and it did not disappoint! Prices had gone up to $52pp (effective 1st April 2014), and includes complimentary sparkling wine throughout the afternoon. It used to be that you can choose between an alcoholic or non-alcoholic High Tea for a cheaper price but this option is no longer available.

Origins serves loose leaf tea from TWG Tea as part of the package, and I had to order the Happy Birthday Tea found under the Exclusive Tea Blends when I saw it! :p “A joyous melody of flavors and colours, this mild black tea is blended with a festive melange of sweet red berries and a touch of vanilla” it read. Nice! Served on such lovely pot and tea set. One can also order Organic Coffee as an alternative.

The 3-tiered stand came next along with a side platter containing the much awaited goodies! There were:

  • Pumpkin coconut foam; Pork Belly; and Salmon Roulette

  • Smoked turkey and cranberry finger sandwich; Prawn cocktail with citrus mayonnaise; Herb goats cheese tartlet; and House cured smoked salmon on croute

  • Warm cherry scones with jam and fresh cream; and Fruit mince tartlet

  • Ginger bread spiced macaron; Praline pumpkin tartlets; and Christmas cupcake

Once again I had such an enjoyable time! Lovely ambiance and friendly service, will definitely be back for another treat in the future! The kitchen also caters for diabetic and pregnant ladies and will modify the food accordingly. Plus!

Here are some photos I took back in 2012 for their Christmas in July High Tea celebration. The quality did not drop all these years, still as good as ever!
