Jersey Jack is a dessert cafe / ice cream parlour / coffee shop all in one! There is much excitement as another dessert parlor joins the ranks in Perth. Can’t wait to check out their gelato!

Perthians north of the river jump for joy! The third PappaRich has recently opened inside Lakeside Joondalup Shopping Centre! No more long distance driving if you are craving for some hawker style food! One fine Saturday I ended up there, thrilled to be invited for lunch to celebrate its opening, I love the food at PappaRich!

PappaRich offers traditional Malaysian cuisine, in the form of authentic, high quality hawker-style street food which is right up my alley. My family and I have been frequent visitors to the Carousel branch as it was much easier to get parking and very convenient to sneak in for a meal after shopping. The same can be said now for the Joondalup branch! H&M, here I come!

The Beach ClubRecently I was privileged to be invited as part of the Perth Food Engineers to attend the Beach Club Summer Launch cocktail party in Cottesloe. The Beach Club, part of the Cottesloe Beach Hotel, is a trendy and sophisticated space designed for ‘guests to catch up with friends, dine and be entertained in style’. I’d been here a couple of times previously for drinks and dinner and loved it both times. I was eager to check out what’s new on the menu this coming summer!

The Left Bank, East Fremantle


The PFEs have been having a bit of a hiatus recently and have been very slack in updating the blog! Much apologies! Currently trying to get back into the swing of things and going through the backlog of posts. We will be doing something new soon, more about that in the following month!

In the meantime, let’s talk about the Left Bank! We were invited earlier this year to the launch of the new (probably not that new now!) Left Bank upstairs area and to check out their menu. Having heard about this place often but yet had a chance to visit, I was eager to check it out.

The Burger Bar at the Rockpool Bar & Grill Perth!


A couple of weeks ago the PFEs received an invitation from the Rockpool Bar & Grill to taste test their menu for the new concept Burger Bar they are introducing to the restaurant. How exciting! I couldn’t wait to find out what will be on offer! To add to the excitement, I walked into the restaurant and was introduced to the main man himself, Neil Perry AM! *squeal* I couldn’t believe it! Neil Perry was saying hi and talking to me!

We were seated not long after and Neil proceeded to introduce the concept of the new Burger Bar to us. I must say he is such a humble and engaging man, and such a great public speaker! Check out all the community and charity work he and the Rockpool Foundation is involved with here!

Howling’s Bar, Perth

Howling’s Bar is a newly opened bar and grill located on Miligan St where Nine Mary’s used to be. As I arrived for the opening event and discovered its location, I was surprised that Nine Mary was not longer operating and that a funky bar has replaced it! Nevertheless I was looking forward to check out what Howling’s Bar is all about.

Stepping into the premise, I observed a modern and chic joint, with high bars, booths and lounges settings. I especially liked the lighting design which gave off a warm hue to its surrounding. It looked fabulous! The place was packed with VIPs, foodies and patrons eager to experience the venue and to sample the menu.

On Monday just past I was at Varnish on King attending the American Whiskey 101 Masterclass as part of the Eat Drink Perth festival. Varnish on King, located on King Street has grown in popularity since its inception and I have heard many good things but have yet to visit. The American Whiskey 101 Masterclass was just perfect for me and my colleagues to drop by!

Having not been there before, it was quite difficult for us to locate the spot! It didn’t helped that we were running slightly late as well. It turned out that the bar is actually located below ground level! I loved the mystery vibe I got walking down the stairs and discovering a whole new scene!

****Eat Drink Perth Dessert Garden****

The Dessert Garden is new to Eat Drink Perth 2015, held every Friday night (except for Good Friday) during the EDP festival next to the Twilight Hawkers Market. It is a special event for the sweet tooth in all of us, featuring chocolatey, cakey and sugary delights, with stalls set up around a pop-up grassed garden, ready to serve.

****Perth’s First Night Noodle Market****

The talk of town this year for the Eat Drink Perth festival was surely the Night Noodle Market (NNM) held at the Perth Cultural Center! Eat Drink Perth 2015 opened with a bang last Wednesday with the Night Noodle Market, a family friendly Asian hawker style market set up over three areas, namely the Central Square, Museum Plaza and the Urban Orchard, housing over 20+ stalls and 3 popup bars. It was so exciting! I ended up going to this event three times over four days!

****City of Perth – Eat Drink Perth 2015****

EatDrinkPerthMarch 2015 marks the start of Perth’s annual food and beverage festival – Eat Drink Perth (EDP)!

I am so excited to be selected once again as one of the official bloggers for this event.  I had a blast last year attending and exploring all that the City of Perth had organised in conjunction with the various venues and businesses around the CBD, Northbridge, East and West Perth.

This year will be even bigger and better, with EDP 2015 running for 5 weeks (instead of 4) from 18 March – 24 April, the first ever Night Noodle Market to be held in Perth and the visitation of special guest celebrity chefs, Adriano Zumbo (need I introduce him?), Matt Stone (multi-awarded WA sustainable dining chef) and Shaun Presland (Executive Chef of Sake – Modern Japanese).  Wow! It’s going to be a full on 5 weeks of culinary fun and adventure!
